Rent Bill affect smallholders

The new law requires that development projects intended 25% of homes to rent
The Property Owners Association Urban (Apiur) considers that the draft law governing the rental housing will affect small companies. Also warns that the legislation could create an obstacle to construction.

"The estimates that 95% of smallholders in Venezuela-the people who rented an annex, a room, apartment-are those most affected by this regulation," the president Apiur, Roberto Orta Martínez.

"This type of regulation can have a significant decrease in construction investment because the promoters are interested in recovering their investment immediately, to pay down debt and invest," he said.
